According to local estate agent Northfields
House prices would rise if the Leaf proposals are implemented, according to local estate agents Northfields.
Richard Palfreeman, Managing Director of Northfields said: “I and my fellow colleagues in the estate agency business and other local businesses welcome the regeneration of the Ealing Broadway area.
"It will enhance the shopping and commuting experience for our existing residents and promote the area for new residents to move in. House prices will always benefit from good quality local shops and transport facilities. Ealing Broadway must go forward and address the issues of good quality retail shops, quality apartment accommodation and transport coupled with the increased competition from neighbouring shopping centres."
Speaking on the current housing climate in Ealing, Richard remains positive despite the bleak national forecast.
"Contrary to all the negative news headlines since December, we are happy to report that house prices for sales are mostly steady.
"There have been price reductions on some properties (although the scale of any falling prices is minute when put in context with the meteoric gains over the last few years!. We have a high level of property which is realistically priced to sell and gives our buyers more choice, hence the healthy level of interested and motivated buyers still active in the market.
"The first-time buyer market is down, but there has been contribution to a strong lettings market for our landlords with those younger buyers opting to keep renting for the time being.
"This presents a good buying opportunity for investors, who remain upbeat about the future of buy-to-let investments."
In their revised proposals Glenkerrin have stated that the Leaf development with include the introduction of 704 new homes including the provision of 100 affordable homes.
"These will be a mix of homes to create a broad community from one bedroom apartments to larger family units," said a spokesperson.
