Chief Superintendent Paul Martin's regular update

Hi all

Just a brief update from me as I wanted to let you all know about a couple of great things.

Just last week I had the joy of personally congratulating some members of my response teams who also hold the role title of 'Super Recognisers'.

The officers have been specially selected for this role as they have a proven superior ability to be able to identify suspects using a range of techniques. I have to admit that I can barely recognise my own reflection on occasion so when they told me they had just made ten positive identifications my jaw just about hit the floor! I am truly amazed by their ability to do this and very proud of them for their hard work.

I also wanted to let you know about my visit to the Palace of Westminster on Monday 11th July where I had the pleasure of meeting with Mr Virendra Sharma MP, Dr Rupa Huq MP and lots of our Ealing residents (pictured).

Visit to Westminster

This was a fantastic community engagement event that enabled residents, partners and stakeholders to come together with a shared interest to improve community safety and public health in Ealing and was hosted in such an impressive environment.

I had the opportunity of presenting my on-going plans and progress to enhance our work together to reduce crime and increase confidence in our services and was asked some challenging questions by audience members.

Meeting residents and those with such a passion for making Ealing the safest place it can be inspires me to keep working on ways to achieve even more impressive results. It also reminds me that this is not a solo act but a variety performance where everyone takes a centre stage role to make a difference.

Finally I just want to remind you to check our Ealing Police at Twitter @EalingMPS and our new Facebook page www.facebook.com/ealingpolice

Take care   Paul Martin
