Tens of Thousands Suffer With Heart Disease in Ealing

Charity hopes to raise a million pounds for research

Nearly thirty thousand people in Ealing suffer with cardiovascular disease according to recent figures.

The British Heart Foundation (BHF) is hoping to make more people aware of the condition and wants to raise £1million for life saving research.

Every year heart and circulatory conditions, which include heart attacks and stroke, claim the lives of around 550 people in Ealing, 175 of whom died prematurely before the age of 75.

The BHF funds around £100million of new lifesaving research every year which is central to discovering vital treatments for people living with heart and circulatory conditions.

The charity is launching a new campaign Wear it. Beat it, and is urging everyone to wear red and get involved - the day will culminate on February 5th.

Last year, 23,000 people took part in Wear it. Beat it and people in the South of England raising over £196,000 alone.
