Free Activities In Ealing To Celebrate International Women's Day

Northolt, Southall and Acton leisure centres throw doors open

To celebrate International Women’s Day, Northolt Leisure Centre, Southall Sports Centre and the Everyone Active Acton Centre - which are operated by Everyone Active in partnership with Ealing council – will be offering free activities to women on Thursday 8 March and inviting them to have fun and get active.

The centres invite women of all ages and abilities to either enjoy the free access to the swimming facilities or take part in new classes.

Northolt Leisure Centre and Everyone Active Acton Centre will be offering a free-swimming pass to use the large 25 metre, 8 lane swimming pool from 06:30 – 21:00.

Southall Sports Centre will be encouraging local women of all ages to sample their range of classes, by offering a Mega-Mix class which incorporates aerobics, step and conditioning moves from 09:15 to 10:15. A great workout for burning calories whilst toning up at the same time. Then from 10:30 until 11:30 participants will be able to enjoy a fun Asian Dance Fusion class.

International Women’s Day calls on the masses to help create a better working and more gender inclusive world. The global day offers a chance to celebrate the social, economic and cultural achievements of women and marks the call to action for encouraging gender parity. Throughout the country Everyone Active centres host a variety of female only classes and hope to engage all members of the community in physical activity.

“We are very much behind this celebration and are looking forward to inviting all women from the community into our centres” says Everyone Active Contract Manager, Phil Edwards. “It is important for us to make fitness accessible to everyone and we hope that this variety of free options will introduce more people to a healthy, active lifestyle.”
