New project to help with post traumatic stress
Witnesses traumatised by crime and accidents in Ealing will soon be able to get more help.
The project is being run by Ealing Police, the Council, Victim Support and the Witness Service at Ealing Magistrates' Court, and will help people who have seen violent crimes, death and accidents.
An information booklet on dealing with physical and emotional affects and post traumatic stress can be found online and copies can be picked up from the borough's police stations.
Ealing Borough Commander, Chief Superintendent Sultan Taylor, said: "I'm extremely pleased with this excellent partnership initiative.
"The aim is to ensure witnesses of crime are supported throughout the investigation which I believe is a real step forward by the Borough and partners in effectively bringing offenders to justice."
The project is also being supported by Street Pastors, a Christian church-led charity which helps vulnerable people on the streets of London.
