Licence Suspended at Southall Nightclub

Police intervened to 'protect the public' and say the club must improve safety

A troubled Southall nightclub - which was the scene of a stabbing earlier this month - has had its licence revoked for 28 days.

Three people were arrested after a 17 year old boy was injured at the Tudor Rose on The Green on September 1st.

A council license meeting on the 8th September ruled the club have its licence suspended for a short period with only religious events allowed to take place on the premises.

Detective Inspector Gornall said :

"We the police would like emphasise that due to the seriousness of the events at the club it was necessary to intervene as a matter of urgency to protect the public and promote the licensing objectives.

It was necessary to suspend the license to allow the club to disassociate itself from the troubled past allowing the clubs managers to work with the police and the license authority to improve safety at the club by changes to the conditions of their premises license."
