Former Ealing Police Worker in Court Over Misconduct


He pleaded guilty to variety of charges relating to his work as a civilian

A former member of Ealing's Police staff has pleaded guilty to misconduct in a public office and perverting the course of justice.

Babulal Vaja, aged 59, who resigned from the civilian section of the Metropolitan Police Service in January 2010 appeared at Southwark Crown Court yesterday (7 September 2011).

The first two indictments for misconduct in a public
office related to the removal and unlawful issuing of lost property reports and the misuse of an MPS information system (CRIS).

The third indictment he pleaded guilty to was perverting the course of justice regarding correspondence about driving offences - specifically notices of intended prosecution.

Another man, Surinder Singh,40, of Scotts Road, Southall also pleaded guilty to perverting the course of justice in relation to the notices of intended prosecution.

Both men will be sentenced at Southwark Crown Court on 21 October.
