Register Now To Vote For Next London Mayor

Elections in May but must sign up before 18th April

The deadline is fast approaching for Ealing residents to register to vote for the next Mayor of London and London Assembly Members.

The Mayor and London Assembly are responsible for many public services in the capital including transport, policing, the environment, housing and economic development. To be able to vote in these important elections on 3 May residents must register with the council before Wednesday, 18 April.

To take part in the elections residents must be British, Irish, EU or Commonwealth citizens. To register Ealing residents should call 020 8825 7777 and ask for a registration form or collect a form from the Electoral Services office at Ealing Town Hall, New Broadway, London, W5 2BY. Residents must bring proof of identity and proof of address with them when collecting the form in person.

Wednesday 18 April at 5pm is also the deadline for applications to register to vote by post or to cancel an existing postal voting arrangement. Applications for a proxy vote, which means voters can nominate someone trusted to vote on their behalf if they cannot attend a polling station, can be made up to 5pm on Wednesday 25 April.

Postal and proxy application forms can be downloaded from the council’s website at www.ealing.gov.uk/elections or obtained from the Electoral Services Office at Ealing Town Hall.

In April, everyone who is registered to vote in London will receive an information booklet about the elections. This will list all the London Assembly candidates, include mini-manifestos from the Mayoral candidates and give some information about how to vote.
