High Speed Rail Link For North Acton

Mobile Exhibition detailing the plans for HS2 at Westfield this Friday

Local residents are invited to make their views heard on proposals for High Speed 2 as a mobile exhibition of the plans comes to Westfield Shopping Centre this Friday..

High Speed 2 (HS2) is a proposed high-speed railway between London, the Midlands and the North of England. Construction on HS2 would begin in 2018-19 with the first trains running by 2026, provided there is parliamentary approval.

A report in March 2010 proposed that all trains would stop at a west London "Crossrail interchange" to the planned new station at Old Oak Common in Acton. There would be connections for Crossrail, Heathrow Express and services on the Great Western Main Line to Heathrow Airport, Reading, South West England and South Wales.

Residents are invited to attend a mobile exhibition on HS2 in the Old Oak Common area at Westfield London Shopping Centre on Friday, 1 April between 8am and 8pm. There is also an exhibition at the Greenford Assembly Rooms (Greenford Hall) on Thursday, 7 April between 8am and 8pm.  More information is available at www. highspeedrail.dft.gov.uk

These events are being led by High Speed 2 Limited, the company set up by the Department for Transport to deliver the project.
