The Gunnersbury Park CIC has made an application to Hounslow Council to close off the area around the cricket pitch for 18 days for an event taking place over a single day.
Up to 9,000 guests could attend the 30th ever Soho House Festival on Thursday 3 July but the management of the park says that set up needs to begin on 23 June and clearance won’t be complete until 11 July.
This means that a seven hectare area at the southern end of the park will be closed off with other events likely to mean this is not the only occasional when the space is taken up for events with Pub in the Park also switching to Gunnersbury this year.
The time is needed to allow for the erection of associated temporary structures, ancillary concessions and facilities.
A spokesperson for the Gunnersbury Park CIC said, “The 18-day period covers everything needed to bring the event to life—setting up dining areas, entertainment, and essential safety measures, as well as carefully taking everything down afterward. Since all infrastructure has to be brought in from off-site, this timeframe allows for a safe and efficient process. Events of this scale often include multiple live dates within a similar setup period, but in this case, there will be just the one event day.”
The Soho House Festival has been held at Gunnersbury Park since 2022, initially in the area in front of Gunnersbury House. As it expanded in size it has moved to a larger area in front of the cricket pitch. Last year’s headliners included Jessie Ware, Chaka Khan and Sophie Ellis-Bextor.
The ticket prices for the private club members event which runs from 2pm to 11pm include unlimited food and drink through the day.
Tickets went on sale this Tuesday (4 March) priced at £315 for Soho House members or £255 for members under 27 plus a £6.50 booking fee. Soho House members can buy up to four tickets each (one for themselves, and three for guests).
Soho House members can book tickets here.
