Grimebusters To The Rescue

New hotline launched in Ealing

Ealing Council has launched a 24-hour, 7 day a week hotline for reporting cases of fly-tipping, graffiti and emergency cleansing on the borough’s streets.

From 1 December 2010, by calling 020 8825 8825 the public can report all of these cases, at any time and the council will aim to deal with it within 24 hours.

Councillor Bassam Mahfouz, cabinet member for Transport and Environment, said:

“I’m excited about this new service which will mean people can report an issue as soon as they spot it, and we will aim to clear it within 24-hours. You should not have to put up with graffiti and fly-tipping and now you can call our new Grimebusters line at any time. I know this new service will go even further to making Ealing an even better place to live.”

Emergency cleansing is where unsanitary or potentially harmful material, such as fuel spills or a dead animal is found in a public place.

It does not include standard street litter or missed refuse and recycling collections, which can both still be reported online at www.ealing.gov.uk/services/environment or by calling 020 8825 6000 between Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.
