The Summer Holidays Are Nearly Here

Don't panic - sign the youngsters up for some free boredom busters

Ealing youngsters can now sign up for a range of free courses and activities, such as football coaching, photography and fashion design, taking place over the summer.

The council’s ‘Futureversity’ programme offers 11- 19 year olds (up to 25 for young people with additional needs) the chance to learn new skills and earn nationally recognised qualifications over the summer holidays. More than 1000 young people took part last year.

All the courses are free of charge and places are allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Some of the qualifications on offer include FA Level 1 football coaching badge, Rookie Lifeguard certificate and a Red Cross First Aid certificate.

Councillor Patricia Walker, cabinet member for Children and Young People said: “Futureversity is a fantastic chance for young people to try something different and make new friends over the summer.

“Our schedule is packed with courses that suit all interests and they are all completely free of charge. Don’t miss out and sign up now.”
