The Plough wins Fuller's Outstanding Achievement award

Manager Andrew Durn is on a winning streak

The Plough Inn, Ealing, West London, has won the ‘Outstanding Achievement’ category in this year’s Griffin Trophy competition. The Outstanding Achievement award rewards licensees who have been with the company less than a year, or who have had their pub refurbished in the last year.

The Griffin Trophy is awarded to the Fuller’s pub that most impressed the panel of judges for its appearance, quality of ales, food, atmosphere, commitment and enthusiasm.

Manager Andrew Durn fully deserved the award as the Plough has witnessed a remarkable growth since he joined the Plough team following its refurbishment in July 2005.  In December 2005 the Plough was announced the winner of the Ealing Responsible Host Awards and Andrew intends to keep up his winning streak.

Presenting the award to Andrew, Michael Turner said: “The Plough is a great pub and Andrew has done a fantastic job for which he should be really proud. The beer is exceptional and Andrew has turned the pub into a real hub for the local community. It offers something for everyone - superb food, great beer, an excellent wine selection and the warmest of welcomes from Andrew and his team.”

Adding to Michael’s comments, John Roberts said: “The Plough glistens, this is an outstanding pub that has performed exceptionally well and I am absolutely delighted for Andrew and his team.”

Other neighbouring pubs which picked up awards were Chiswick's George IV, which won the highest accolade of Fullers Pub of the Year 2006 and The Griffin in Brentford, which came runner up in the best town/local pub.
