Police are appealing for information about an assault yesterday, Thursday 30th June, that may be connected to the discovery of a 25 year old white man with serious injuries this morning, 1st July.

Police believe the male - who was wearing a distinctive red top - was assaulted by three white males, between 17:00 and 18:00, on June 30th, in the Churchyard at Churchfield Road, where he remained until the following morning.

The Police are appealing for anyone who knows who the injured man is to contact them.

Anyone who was in St Mary's Burial Ground on the evening of June 30th, who may have witnessed the assault, or seen anything suspicious, is also asked to contact 020 8358 0200.

The victim was found by a member of the public. Police were then called by the London Ambulance Service around 06:30, 1/7/2005, and the man was taken to a London hospital where he remains in a critical condition with a serious head injury.
