Angie Bray asks Education Secretary for reassurance
It was recently reported in the press that two schools in Brent were spared from cuts after Education Minister Sarah Teather met with Michael Gove.
As there are a number of pupils in Ealing still without places in schools for the next academic year, we asked Ealing Central and Acton’s MP, Angie Bray, whether she would be mentioning the situation in Ealing to Michael Gove.
Ms Bray told us: “I tabled questions earlier in the summer to try to get reassurance that the Capital Review Team set up by the Education Secretary will be making those areas with pressure on school places a priority.
“The answers I have received say that the decisions on future spending will indeed make this a priority. I have now tabled a further question in relation to the fact that Ealing has one of the fastest growing populations in the country creating an unsustainable situation for the future.
“I am seeking reassurance that this will be treated as an urgent priority. If I don’t get this, I will be seeking a meeting with the education secretary in order to tell him directly about the problems we are facing.”
