Commendations For Bravery


Police and public recognised for outstanding courage

Ealing Borough Commander Chief Superintendent Sultan Taylor paid tribute to the outstanding courage of police officers, police staff and members of the public in a special ceremony.

Among those awarded were two police dog handlers, PC Robling and PC Daly successfully detained a woman following a fight during which she had allegedly stabbed a male victim in the heart.

Another commendation went to PCSO Colin Moore who in August 2009 organised a football tournament aimed at reducing tensions and breaking social barriers among local youngsters.

He has also arranged for a group of ex-offenders to take part in school talks highlighting the dangers and possible consequences of being involved in crime.

PC Paul Diamond was commended after offering medical assistance to an elderly man with multiple serious injuries trapped underneath a lorry following a road collision.

According to London Ambulance Service had it not been his prompt actions the elderly man, whose leg was later amputated, would have most certainly died at the scene from his injuries.

Two members of the public were also commended. Mr Krishan Puran received a commendation for his involvement in Kickz project and his engagement in Brentford Football Club as well as organising talks on gun crime and drug use among local youngsters.

Matthew Creeber received his commendation for helping a female police officer attacked during an incident with a suspect she had been dealing with.

The Commendation Ceremony was held at Trailfinders Rugby Club, Vallis Way, W13 and Ealing Mayor Barbara Yerolemou, Ealing North MP Stephen Pound also attended.

Ch. Supt. Sultan Taylor said: “I would like to thank all of you for your ongoing commitment, bravery and sheer hard work in a complex business which is policing. I am proud and privileged to lead a Borough where police officers, police staff, our partners and members of the public work together to find solutions to reduce crime. It is a team effort”.

Ealing Mayor Barbara Yerolemou echoed his views by saying: "It is my duty as a Mayor of Ealing to thank everyone for keeping the Borough safe”.

Ealing North MP Steven Pound added: “I am impressed with what you have achieved. It is a very humbling experience for me to be here. Thank you to you all”.
