A programme of summer activities is being held to help children learn about nature and biodiversity at Boston Manor Park.

Activities include pond-dipping, mini-beast bug hunts, reptile handling, learning about survival skills and shelter building, and much more.

The activities are free and are suitable for children aged 5 to 12, as long as they are accompanied by an adult at all times.

The activities programme is part of the Reconnecting Boston Manor Park, a lottery-funded project to restore the park.

The activity sessions are being hosted by the Council’s Countryside Education Ranger Team from Greenspace 360.

Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Leisure Services, said, “It’s great to hear about the fun and learning that children are benefitting from at the activity sessions at Boston Manor Park.

“These sessions are ideal entertainment for little ones over the long summer holiday weeks, so I urge you to sign up now if you’d like your child to benefit from one of the next four sessions.

“As part of the lottery-funded investment that’s going into Boston Manor Park, we’re determined to make the park a more interesting and accessible place for people of all ages, and these activity sessions are part of that work.

“Over the next few weeks, contractors will be visiting Boston Manor Park to carry out improvements to the lake and beyond.
