Off duty police officers on their way to work at 6.30am on Sunday (11th Sept) came across a serious collision involving a motorcycle at the junction with The Avenue and Gunnersbury Lane (corrected), Acton.

Officers began first aid on the rider but unfortunately he was pronounced dead at the scene .

Although it is early in the investigation it is not believed that any other vehicles were involved

Next of kin have been informed and have formally identified the rider.

It is anticipated that a post mortem will take place on 13/9/2011 to establish cause of death and then an inquest will be opened and adjourned at Fulham Coroners Court pending a police investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
