Police charge local man with A4 hit and run

Landscape gardener stands accused of causing death by dangerous driving

Police today charged local man Charles Capp with causing death by dangerous driving, failing to stop at the scene of an accident, driving a vehicle with no insurance and perverting the course of justice.

The 43 year old landscape gardener from Ealing Road, Brentford appeared in custody at Feltham Magistrates to face the charges following a collision on the Great West Road A4 earlier this month in which 18 year old Marcus Macfarlane died.

Marcus, who had spent Saturday watching the World Cup with his friends and family, was in the carriageway at a crossing point when the car, alleged to have been driven by Charles Capp, collided with him. The car failed to stop.

Police discovered Capp's maroon Renault Laguna abandoned outside Alma House, Walnut Tree Road on the Haverfield Estate in Brentford.

From the outset, Police were convinced that they were looking for a local man.

Charles Capp was remanded in custody to appear at Isleworth Crown Court on 4th October.
