Toddler killed by ambulance at Ealing Nursery

Tragic accident occurred at open day at St Barnabas Church hall

An Ealing nursery school was the scene of a tragic accident this Thursday morning in which a two year old child was killed by an ambulance. The London Ambulance Service vehicle was on a visit to the nursery at St Barnabas Church hall in Pitshanger Lane when it rolled backwards down a steep driveway crushing Oliver Ladwa. Oliver, who was from West Ealing, was just a few weeks away from his third birthday. An air ambulance was called but the child was pronounced dead at the scene at around noon.

It is understood that some of the children from the school were in the ambulance at the time and other children and parents at the open day witnessed the accident.

Spokesman for the London Ambulance Service said: "Our thoughts are with the child's family following this terrible tragedy. The police are investigating and we will obviously be co-operating fully with their inquiries."

No arrests have been made but enquiries are continuing. Anyone with any information should call Police on 020 8998 5319. Alternatively you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
