Driver arrested after causing chaos on the A4
A cyclist has been killed after being hit by a van on the A4 near the junction with Ealing Road in Brentford. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following the collision, the van continued to drive westbound along the A4 and was subsequently stopped by police. The male driver - aged 20 years - has been arrested and is currently in custody at a west London police station.
Police understand that prior to the collision the van collided with a number of other vehicles but no serious injuries occured.
The incident required the closure of the A4 between the incident and Chiswick roundabout but the road is now open and traffic is flowing normally.
