Three others remain in serious condition including three year old
Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a fatal collision in West London at approximately 00:05 on Sunday 23rd October.
Four cars were involved in the collision, which occurred on the roundabout at the northern end of the West Cross Route leading from Shepherd's Bush to the A40.
Four people travelling in a Fiat Punto sustained serious injuries. All four were taken by ambulance to hospital.
The driver - a man in his 50s - died shortly after arrival at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. He has been formally identified, however police await confirmation that all next of kin have been informed.
The three passengers in the Fiat - a three year old girl, a 30yr old woman and a 52yr old man - remain in hospital; their conditions are described as serious but stable.
The driver of a Vauxhall Omega was taken to hospital suffering minor injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and for failing to provide a specimen of breath. He was taken to a West London police station and subsequently bailed pending further inquiries.
A female passenger in the Vauxhall received treatment for minor injuries and has since been released from hospital.
The drivers of two other cars involved in the collision were treated at the scene for shock. Officers from the Collision Investigation Unit based at Hampton are investigating.
