Brentford Out of the Carling Cup

Hereford 1 - Brentford 0

Brentford fell at the first hurdle in this year's Carling Cup with a 1-0 defeat to Hereford.

The goal came from close range in the 92nd minute through Bulls substitute Yoann Arquin

The Bees had been pretty dominant, particularly in the first half, with decent chances falling to Saunders, Kev, Logan and Donaldsdson.

One observation is that a wide player would have stretched the hosts even further - a midfield of Kev, Bean and Douglas with Saunders operating in front was a bit too narrow at times and put pressure on our final ball.

There were decent performances from some players - the reliable Osborne and the jet heeled Logan were probably the pick on the night, with Donaldson lively throughout.

Some food for thought for Uwe though, with Brentford going out in the first round for the 6th time in eight seasons.

Bees - Moore, Logan (Alexander), Eger, Osborne, Wood, Kev, Bean (Weston), Saunders (Reeves), Douglas, Donaldson, Macdonald

Unused Bees - Lee, Pim, Woodman, Forrester
