The End Must Be Nigh?

Dagenham and Redbridge 4 - Brentford 1

After utter capitulation at bottom club Dagenham & Redbridge on Tuesday night, it looks like Andy Scott's tenure as manager must surely be coming to an end.

Whilst pre-match conditions didn't help very much - the players were stuck in traffic until close to kick off - the manner of defeat this evening really hurts.

Daggers hadn't won for four months at home and were sitting at the bottom of the league but coasted to a 4-1 win with Brentford's consolation goal coming in injury time through Charlie Macdonald.

Brentford's recent defensive frailties continued with Simon Royce punching the ball against Jon Nurse for the opening goal and Karleigh Osborne scoring the second himself in the 56th minute. Goals 3 and 4 followed ten minutes later through Nurse again and Romain Vincelot.

Brentford were booed off by the visiting supporters at both the interval and full time.

Given that Scott's recent signings of Grabban, Tudur-Jones and Bignall all started this evening, it's fair to say that the cavalry don't appear to have arrived after all.

Scott's recent legacy appears to be a demoralised squad who are frustrated at being played out of position or dropped on a whim for new arrivals. The lack of confidence in the squad is clear for all to see and the style of football is frankly abysmal. No pride, no passion, nothing.

Andy Scott has achieved some good things in his time at this club but he has simply stopped learning his trade. His one tactic doesn't work and his recent record in the transfer market is poor.

The likeable manager who took the helm three years ago has long since gone, replaced by a manager who appears to have become very bitter about the job in hand whilst his stubborn and abrasive outlook has started to cause a divide with the fans.

I thinkthis result proves that it's time for a change before Andy takes us back to the division in which his tenure began.

Bees - Royce, Wright, Pim, Osborne, Woodman, Grabban (Simpson), OTJ, Kev, Bignall (Weston), Alexander (Saunders), Macdonald.

Unused Bees - Moore, Legge, Dave, Forster
