Bees roar to four

Brentford 4 - Exeter City 2

Brentford won 4-2 on Saturday in a highly entertaining game at St James Park

Leon Legge opened the scoring on four minutes from a Kev corner before dwarf striker Cureton equalised and then gave his traditional moronic celebration

Brentford then smashed themselves into a 4.1 lead after the break, Macdonald teeing up Alexander and Wood before scoring himself.

Cureton notched his second before Kev missed from the spot after a foul on Myles Weston late on. There was then time for the Bees to miss a second penalty before the final whistle - Weston the guilty party this time, his shot from the rebound then striking a post

There were many other chances in the game too, Alexander having a goal disallowed, Bean denied a cheeky backheel goal and perpetual pain in the arse Cureton firing wide when clean through on goal. It's a third straight league win though for the in form Bees and the game also saw newboy Stephen Wright's debut.

Manager Andy Scott said after the match " It was a mad game. The first 10-12 minutes we got the early goal but after that we looked like we would concede every time they got the ball. That was unlike us defensively and they got a rocket at half time and they responded in a great way.

"I shouted and screamed at them (at half time) and it was very loud. You can count on one hand the number of times I have gone beserk since I`ve been in charge and we were on the verge of getting beaten, and getting beaten easily in the first half, and that`s not the way we work it. Sometimes a rocket up their backsides helps - it`s nearly fireworks night so why not?!

"The way we responded in the second half they probably could have had four and we could have had ten. It was ridiculous! But we did what we do well and we made it hard for them when we had the ball and got in good areas and missed two penalties which is mad.

"We play our way and it is pretty effective when we do it right. We did that in the second half and we showed that when we do it right we are capable of beating anyone. "
