At ISL we are proud to be a truly international school, with students from over 50 different countries, including the UK, and a teaching body that comes from all over the world. Our pioneering home language programme, currently teaching 24 languages, allows students to continue to learn in their ‘mother tongue’ both language and literature, and this helps them to retain connections to their cultural roots whilst integrating into our wonderfully diverse and inclusive community.
The warmth of our whole school community is developed through our network of language teachers, parent language reps and student buddies, and meaning that new joiners to the school are rapidly integrated and wellbeing is supported right from the start of their London journey.
As only the second school in the UK to offer the International Baccalaureate programme, we have extensive expertise in our teaching community, with many of our staff having written the text books used for numerous courses. We value the IB for the flexibility it offers students in the ways they learn and in what they can study, and our alumni body is testament to the way in which the curriculum develops responsible and globally-minded citizens.
Our proximity to Gunnersbury Park coupled with our Forest School programme, recently extended into the Secondary years as well as Primary, allows our students to explore nature, and understand their place in the world. In MYP (Middle Years Programme) Forest School is combined with Design to offer a more holistic learning experience that promotes resilience, creativity and a deep connection to nature, as well as teaching problem-solving skills, innovation and critical thinking.
To find out for yourself, register for one of our open mornings here. Or if you cannot make those dates, we are always happy to show you around the school at a time to suit you.
