Mice

Has anyone had problem with mice this year? We have not had this problem before ( well the odd little mouse over the 20 odd yrs. here. )But now, we seem to be catching one or two mice per day. Nothing around us has changed, - can't understand it.

Yes, this year we've noticed lots of field mice under both our garden sheds - but so far they haven't invaded the house. ten years ago we had field mice in our kitchen and had a man in to get rid of them by plugging up holes in the outer walls and a few broken air vents.

My sister had two cats that used to bring her field mice, voles and birds yucky

The only problem we have with mice is our lovely cat, who is very much an outside puss, bringing "presents" to us. She's a great mouser and loves to bring the little blighters into the house still alive.

Yes Perrin I've had a lot through the winter, every time I think I've got rid of the little blighters another one pops in grrr, several neighbours have had the same problem.

We had them for a few years, but we but fitted new grills and mesh over the outside wall vents/airbricks, and blocked all holes inside and none for over a year since.  We all see house mice as indoor problems, but it seems they enter more via outside holes and open doors than from neighbouring properties below floorboards etc...

I think this may be the unusually wet weather.Same as people thinking rats are pure sewer dwellers.Everything heads for high ground when it's caning it down and when you're as low as vermin it doesnt take too much to need higher ground!
