Cote restaurant chain excellent.

I known some people tend to look down their noses and are a bit sniffy about 'chain' bistros, but I find our Ealing branch of Cote an excellent eatery. Three of us went yesterday for lunch - food was great also the white wine and they've got a different manager called Martin - pleasant efficient gentleman from Poland. An enjoyable time - don't understand folk being down on 'chains'. What are your views?

Gerry, simple economics.Cote buy in bulk so their input prices on food are quite low.The margins on alcohol sold in restaurants are phenomenal, typically 3-4 times the buy-in price.

Yes that was us, the food actually was better then i expected , but COte hasnt let me downFYI they also own Bills :)

I've just noticed Cote have changed their set menu today - its got all the food dishes I like. The set menu is such good value - under £10 - I don't know how they can make a profit offering such value for money. We must visit Cote again soonest.

Another very good chain is Gaucho, an Argentinian steak specialist. The nearest is Richmond, on the river, which I accept is a way out of Ealing. It's undeniably pricey, but the meat is fantastic and the wines are excellent too.

I think we saw your group of about 12 people - you left at about 1.45 - we were three sitting in the booth nearest to serving place. You lot seemed to have enjoyed yourselves - office lunch perhaps?

We are regulars at Cote and think it very good value for money.  Staff always friendly and a nice relaxed atmostphere.  Always buzzy.  Love it for breakfast lunch or dinner!

I've been to cote in Ealing, Highgate and Angel - excellent every time. A winning formula!

Agree with your sentiments totally. But that e****y word does set my teeth on edge.  Room 101 would be my vote for it.

Glad you agree Andy. Another excellent 'chain' eatery are the Loch Fyne Fish restaurants - we've never been disappointed with their products and service - and value too.

Entirely agree. I normally avoid chains but for a family celebration recently their lunch offer seemed exceptionally good value so we gave it a try and weren't disappointed. Independent restaurants are generally better than chains but this one is an exception.
