A lot of us still remember the dark days when Quarter Pound of Rubbish tried through various nefarious means and corrupt deals to buy Griffin Park and 'evict' Brentford. We may have not 'played with the big boys' for a long time but what have achieved we have achieved with a degree of dignity. Class is something those involved with the attempts, all those years ago but still well remembered, to annex and evict Brentford never had and couldn't buy.Contrast that with the efforts then of the late and lamented Roger Pond-Jones, kids giving their pocket money to save the club, shaking buckets outside home game, sponsored walks to pay the wage bill, having an independent councillor elected on a community stadium ticket, securing the ground to turn the dream of a community sports facility into reality (without the need for a 200 year freebie handout from 'mates on the council' like Warren Farm) and we, sir, have class in spades. Forgive us a well-earned gloat.Rant over.
