Ealing Hospital A&E provided by 'Care UK'?

As per thread title, I gather that Ealing A&E is provided/outsourced to the company 'Care UK'?  When did that happen?  Are all UK NHS hospital A&E departments provided by 'Care UK'?   The cynical amongst us might say that, by stealth, gradually outsourcing every N&S department and squeezing central/government funding, the NHS will eventually be a privatised entity?

As are dentists who can choose (or not) to contract in to NHS services as are any number of specialisms which have never been part of the 'core' service.

True Gerry but on the two occasions that my son injured himself playing rugby (nothing major) we were seen, treated and back home after a visit to  MATS faster than just the 'expected waiting time' at Ealing hospital

A pleasure.IIRC the late lamented MATS (Minor Accident Treatment Service) which was attached to Northwick Park hospital was outsourced and jolly good it was too, saving hours with injuries on the sports field when my son was younger.

I believe that that is just the walk-up urgent care (minor injuries) unit. The A&E is still part of the main hospital and not outsourced.
