So I received my renewal premium yesterday and it was £412. Confused.com couldn't beat that but I've been meaning to put the other half on the policy for a while so created a new quote adding her as a second driver. All of a sudden the female orientated insurers get in on the action and my new premium for both of us is £356 with Diamond! And I get handbag cover included!

Never assume your renewal is cheap - on the contrary - always get a new quote. Even giving your details to your existing insurer, as a new quote - sometimes is cheaper than your renewal- strangely.

It's not a female thing, it works both ways hense the reason I always have my OH on my insurance, another tip is never set a low annual mileage insurers then assume that your not an experienced driver.
