If i was Chancellor
On listening to the budget yesterday, i kept thinking how stupid they sounded and I could have done much better. One thing that I found particularly stupid was when someone said not enough houses was being built in London. Excuse me, but according to statistics, nearly every empty land has been brought up and has had houses and flats built. Just look at Ealing, Greenford, Brentford there are flats being built by the dozen. The problem is that these flats are being purchased as investments by overseas investors and left empty so hence the housing shortage.Well, if i was chancellor, i would restrict ownership of property by foreign investors unless they could prove they were permanent residetns of Great Britain and if not, I would tax them 60%.Secondly, regarding welfare payments, I would make it so that no Eastern European national could claim any welfare at all until they had been living in this country for 5years or more and had been working and paying tax for the past 5 years.I could go on but I won't bore you all.
