Amalfi Caffe opens.

Walked to our local shops in St John's Parade this morning, to get my newspaper and popped into the new Amalfi Caffe, which has replaced Cafe Rosetta our neighbourhood 'fry-up' eatery. Had me a double espresso and a croissant - tasty, but have had better. They offer a range of pastas with various sauces and numerous hot ciabattas and breakfast items from scrambled eggs to bacons and hamburgers. Cheerfully decorated and welcoming.

A marked difference Susan, in that its been thoroughly decorated with a large picture of mature olive groves and whilst not aspiring to haute cuisine, its a step above the 'fry-up' eatery that was Cafe Rosetta. We'll see how it further develops. It hasn't got a drinks licence yet - that'll make a real difference imo.
