Neck and neck next May 2015.

I don't know how to take polls, but I see that a recent poll on the General Election next year declares that The Socialists might just take Ealing Central and Acton from The Conservatives. It should prove a 'neck'n neck' election.What are the main issues contested for Ealing Central and Acton?

I agree, Keith. Let's have politicians who know what they believe in, not ones who have to be told what they believe this week by the latest survey.

Love them or hate them but the likes of Benn, Powell, Foot and Thatcher had strong convictions and did not sway with the slightest political breeze but said things as they saw them and stuck to their guns. I wonder why tv impersonators don't really 'do' politicians anymore...I wonder if it's because they are mostly wimped out, air brushed clones who are at the mercy of the 'think tank, focus group' mentality so beloved of Blair. Many are  told how to dress, have had elocution lessons and are versed in body language techniques that they all seem like dodgy second hand car salesmen (with apologies to any car salesmen who may be reading this)

You only have to look at both sides of the house Gerry too see that there are many of both categories. That is one of the problems,many Labour politicians move further away from their party roots and many Tories are nearer to theirs.

Are there any 'champagne Socialists' and 'Tory toffs' anywhere?  I used to know and like them, but I mix in limited rather boring circles now. We need some characters with 'fire in their bellies'!

All parties are after the elderly vote as older people are more likely to vote. I'm guessing that all the main parties will be falling over themselves to guarantee the pension triple-lock and the array of benefits enjoyed by the over-62s.

Aren't they still called New Labour or is it officially just Labour again ? Have they changed their name back to what it was to disassociate themselves from their own recent history and to protect the guilty? If so, do they think it will fool anyone?
