Rugby at its best yesterday.

What a thrilling 6 Nation's match by Ireland and England and apart from Owen's late tackle on Sexton surprisingly clean and played at max octane. A pleasure to watch.

Sorry about the loss yesterday to Quins John. Finishing 5th in the Merit table is commendable in your first season.I don't know about average, a heart-breaking defeat against Australia and that victory by 27 points against England (was that the one game exception?) made for a poor season but the 'turn is on' and the equally young (I think there is only just over a year difference on the average) Welsh squad should make the game at 'HQ' very exciting.The England game was an exciting spectacle but they did not show the dominance of the Welsh against an, admittedly average, French side.

Mr Brooks, that is absolute rubbish. Wales were average all of last year with the exception of one game. They have been average this year too - let's not forget this French team lost to italy last year.If Wales follow this weekend up with a victory at HQ in a couple of weeks, then fair play, but right now England are on the verge of something truely special. They have a very young, inexperienced team who are putting together some good performances without being anywhere near their potential.Elsewhere, Hanwell RFC sadly lost to Harlequins amateurs yesterday endig our hopes of making the the end of season play offs in our first ever season.Next up is Chiswick in the Middlesex Vase semi final.

Not a patch on the Welsh decimation of France on Friday.Gatland inspired them and they played like a cohesive force for the first time this Six Nations.Owen Farrell is very lucky not to have been cautioned for late, foul play in the last two games. I wish someone would wipe that supercilious sneer off his face.
