Emergency -Ealing Broadway Centre

I got to the centre at 8.40. Press button for lift. Then an emergency announcement message over the tannoy rang out saying to leave the shopping centre by the nearest exit. Kept repeating this message over and over again. I left and still have no idea what was wrong.I rang an hour later to be told by a staff member at Virgin Active that it was a false alarm!!!!Missed my gym class so will have to do a 10 mile walk instead.

I was there too, Yvette, just going through the checkout at Tesco when the racket started. I did wait outside the nearest exit but felt a bit foolish even doing that as it was so very obviously a false alarm and most people were taking no notice at all (the man at the greasy spoon caff carried on putting his tables out). It finally stopped after about ten minutes and I got on with my shopping!Makes a change, I suppose.
