Ealingtoday- significant birthday?

I was just thinking, it must be about 10 years since I emailed the then editor, backed by an email from Gerry, asking for this hidden forum to be changed to a public forum. It would be interesting to know the date. Perhaps there is also a hidden counter which has recorded how many messages have been posted.I very rarely post now and just glance in occasionally to see what's cooking.

I've only just seen this Peter - sorry.Life in lovely Dorset seems idyllic for you - so pleased you and your wife have settled for the bucolic life of the clean countryside.Ealing is generally the same, perhaps a touch busier and dirtier - people seem the same, paler and more worried and noisier. Plenty of new restaurants and shops - I do envy your life in deepest Dorset - stay happy and content - all the best Peter - Gong Xi Fa Cai as we say in Chinese, for this year of the wood horse. Hi Gerry,We've been here, unbelievably, for over five years now. On balance life is better, no litter, no graffiti, no crime. Just a few minutes drive away from a fantastic coastline and a couple of towns. Our part of Dorset is rather quiet, rather English and rather lacking in cultural diversity unfortunately.As for 'sunny' we've had our floods like lots of folk over this way and storms off the Atlantic, battering the coast, locals have never known a winter like it. Its been quite interesting and there's more heavy rain due from midday onward, you catch it this evening. Greetings and hello Peter and Gerry too.Your question has prompted a little exploring.  There seems to be a message counter for the Forums in the NNet Group ...but all added together. You can see the figure at the bottom of the page.The Chiswick Forum started life in year 2000 with Paul Allen and others contributing..and it was possible to view their messages were once upon a time...but no longer. We used to just enter into the address bar that bottom of the page code and add 0026 or 0027 etc.Robert Billington's message, dated 7th September 2001, which I have reposted..was Number 8840. Tonight on the Chiswick Forum message No. 967,361 has been posted..so it won't be long until One million is achieved across the NNet empire! And well done them.
