Gurnell Leisure Centre parking shambles
Once again I return to the problems with the parking meters at Gurnell. I have been complaining -- and so have others -- since late last year that the meters reject newly-minted coins. The complaints have gone unanswered by the council and the Gurnell Centre administrators. Now, there are hardly any of the old coins still in circulation. This morning when I was there I had to use an old 50p coin as against paying 30p for the usual hour. A fellow swimmer told me that he had to pay £1 the other day because none of his other coins would work. He got no change, of course.The Gurnell reception staff repeatedly tell me they know about the problem and that "someone is looking into it". Yeah, right! When?
