Dicken's Yard crane collapse

About a couple of hours ago the arm of the tall crane in the Doicken's Yard development snapped and it is now resting  half in half out on top of another building. Workers have been evacuated from the site and a number of emergency services are attending the scene.

If you try to break a pencil it tends to break near the middle. The jib of this crane broke quite near the upright and a long way from the load-carrying end maybe at an assembly point. I was walking across The Green near the gates of Pitzhanger Manor and realized what damage this crane had done to the skyline before it broke. "Too big too high" was the mantra. And were your daughters set to move in Rosa? Or were your children priced out by the non-dom millionaires?

Paramedic and an ambulance arrived whilst we were there but the crew were still sat in the vehicle when we went past about twenty minutes later. I suspect all building work is suspended till area is made safe again. We may hear it all about once investigation team file it's report.
