I know half of Ealing will have been waiting with bated breath to find out what is happening. I have been victorious.I tried the Maxey Mars Bar method first of all but put too big a piece of chocolate on the Big Cheese neck breaker trap. The mouse came along, knocked off the chocolate from the trap and disappeared with it. So I put a much smaller, lighter piece on. Same result. Then I turned to the Penny Peanut Butter method (patent pending) and checked the trap just before bed last night. Wonderful! One dead mouse, lying on his back. I cackled like the old witch I am at heart and went to bed. He was disposed of this morning.Trap has been washed, dried, reloaded with some Whole Earth Crunchy Peanut Butter and replaced. I'll see if I have any more curious critters. Thanks so much for all the suggestions. It has been freaking me out somewhat as no-one wants doubly incontinent vermin in their house but I have a suppressed immune system at the moment and definitely do not want to deal with a possibly disease-spreading animal.
