Great men.

I consider myself very fortunate in having lived through part of the lives of half a dozen great men. They are Winston Churchill, Franklin D. Roosevelt, Ho chi Ninh, Mahatma Gandhi, Mao tse-Tung and Nelson 'Madiba' Mandela.  I think the greatest of these good men and true must be Nelson Mandela.

Ho Chi Minh once worked as a kitchen hand at The Drayton Court pub(now the Drayton Court Hotel) in West Ealing when a youth many years ago. Don't know about the others, but I expect most of them visited London and probably passed thru Ealing when conveyed from Heathrow or Northolt to London.

PS.I also think Gorbachev will go down in history as having a far greater positive affect on world affairs.He is marginalised in Russia now as there is no-one of his calibre around.

Mandela, like some of the others mentioned, had murkier parts of his past and some would say blood on his hands to some extent.Churchill also had moments of dubious actions  as did the others already mentioned.We all have feet of clay.
