Thousands killed in typhoon damage.
I was shocked to read that as many as 1200 died in the recent typhoon in the Philippines. At first when I heard of the havoc caused, it was said that only a couple of hundred people died. Now its estimated that thousands may be killed. I wonder why the estimates were so wrong - after all, we all knew the hurricane was coming and that it would be a damaging one.
