Happy Wife, Happy life

I was reading an article by David Suchet, 'Hercule Poirot'.He says the atmosphere of the home is governed by the woman. If the woman is happy at home, you can be pretty sure everyone's happy at home.Absolutely spot on. It is the woman who puts your dinner on the plate for you when you get home. Your clothes are washed and ironed. She does the cleaning and shopping and looks after the children.So all men should make sure their women are happy if you want a happy life.

On second thoughts, I think you're probably right Keith - its not reasonable to assume that people assume the old traditional roles for male and female. People are so confusing these days - one doesn't know left from right - its so baffling that I don't know whether I'm coming or going! Oh for the simple life!

I don't think it's reasonable at all.It's a pre-conceived and ill thought out generalisation made to fit her argument. It sounds almost as if she has done a David Attenborough-- closely observing behaviour and all that.The fact that David Suchet recommends that in order for a house to be a happy one involves a woman doing all the housework is just as dodgy and if anyone on here claimed that they would be deemed a chauvinist.

One doesn't know how Asha did her survey of gay couples, but I think its reasonable to assume that she's correct by claiming they usually assume either of the two gender roles of straight couples.
