restaurant ratings

I don't know about you but I find that you can tell a lot about a restaurant or cafe simply by the state of its toilets.Where the wash room was filthy, no toilet paper, dirty wet floor, no soap or hot water, I dread to think how the chefs wash their hands after going. It sure puts you off eating at these places.So when health inspectors check kitchens, do they ever inspect toilets.

Favourite restaurants topics are a pleasure to read, especially compared to the usually unbalanced and boring arguments in topics like the current two about the alleged misdemeanours of cyclists and car drivers!

What a salutory and interesting query about restaurant ratings. I think I agree with you; the lavatories are a good indicator. Restaurants in Ealing that I rate highly tend to have decent public loos and the ones which gets the thumbs down tend to be the bad ones.  Interesting thought Asha.Which restaurants do you rate highly and which ones get the old raspberries?
