Hospital Trust rankings

Interesting ratings for our local hospitals under the new CQC inspection regime.Trusts are rated from 1 (high risk of poor quality care) to 6 (very low risk of poor quality care).So, how did your local hospital fare?Hillingdon 6Charing Cross 4Ealing 3West Middlesex 2North West London Trust (Central Middlesex and Northwick Park) 2Only two choices really!

George,I do believe that Ealing and Northwick Park hospitals are managed by the same man. There are excellent staff in Ealing Hospital but they are scared to put their heads above the parapet. I thought "stasi hell" finished when the wall came down! On a slightly different track I attended a drop-in session at Lido House to "Help Design Your Care Services". This is a follow up from Mark Spencers Shaping an Unhealthier Future proposals. So if there are problems in the future you can blame me. I am sorry I wasn't very constructive .... a bit like Rosa.

Only once, in Hounslow twenty plus years ago by a chocolate manufacturer (whose products I really disliked). They asked me for my honest opinion, I gave it, they told me that I wouldn't be getting my free chocolate, I thanked them for that small mercy :-)

Still I remain sceptical of these polls. Polls seem to dominate our lives, yet I have never once been asked my opinion from those who interview about what my experiences. Has anyone been asked?

Like all inspections Gerry they are only a snapshot, in this case undertaken by the Care Quality Commission q.v.

I have a friend who has been quite ill over the last couple of years with kidney and lung problems. He has been treated at the Royal Brompton, Charing X and West Mid and he says for sure that the first two were far better than West Mid. in terms of numbers of nurses per patient and in efficiency and in keeping him informed as to what is happening.

I'm worried and sceptical of who actually does the qualitative and quantitative measuring of the best and worse practises in these hospitals. Are they completely independant? Who are the monitors? I'm very sceptical of quality measurement and analysis - I'm yet to be convinced of the accuracy of these details.

Os Hillingdon received one of the BEST ratings. As I posted 6=good, 1=really not very good at all, go somewhere else.

Hillingdon hospital  ratings confirm how the users speak of Hillingdon  hospital. I have heard it described as KILLINGDON more than a couple of times.

We have heard of personal good experience from someone who had a stroke last year and they speak very highly of Charing Cross and later Clayponds for later rehab.
