Beach hut wanted.

Does anyone know of a beach hut for sale please? We are looking to buy such a hut in a seaside resort within about about 2 to 3 hours drive from west London. Condition not important,'cos we hope to renovate interior and exterior. Thanks.

Indeed it is and a bargain for beach huts. Only 16,000 for a 10x10 unmodernised shed near Marine Crescent only 400m from the nearest toilet and 20m from a tap. :-)

My reason for specifying a bed(single) in my beach hut is not to spend an overnight stay but to have a quiet place to lie down in case I get a sudden attack of the vapours!

I used to own and use an open day boat which we took on holidays when the kids were young - Cornwall, Devon, west Wales etc, fishing and general messing about - taking a boat on hols requires a few strong people. We've got rid of them now(I mean the kids), so holidays now are easy affairs and strain free.

Thanks Tim, I couldn't find any that permitted overnight stays.I think Gerry needs a little boat somewhere given his requirements.

Sleeping overnight depends on the location.I guess that permitting sleeping in the huts drives the Mudeford Spit prices through the roof. The BBC website article quoted £200,000 for Needleview and the one I mentioned for sale earlier in the thread seems to have been sold (asking price was £135,000)http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23255452

Lovely beach huts all! But I have certain essential particulars - they are:Must be within 2 to 3 hours drive from west London.Must be right on a clean beach.Reasonably spacious with room enough to have a single bed, a shower cubicle, H&C water, good ventilation, storage cupboards, detached and a phone connection.Near a couple of good restaurants/cafes and food store, fish&chippie and a place selling fresh crabs.Well maintained and secure.Ressonably priced.

Good luck with the search Gerry.There are splendid samples for sale (via Google search IMAGES)some as low as £13.000!I believe there are old railway carriages available at Wittering too!

Hope you've got REALLY deep pockets Gerry.The ones in Worthing, and they come up very rarely, were changing hands for £15-20,000+ some years ago; on top of which on had to pay almost £500 per year ground rent to the Council.
