Thoughts, please, on whether I should take this up? I am already a Talk Talk customer.Currently my bills with Talk Talk average around £21 to £23 per month. This includes free Broadband with a speed I consider fast enough for my needs; unlimited calls day and night plus free unlimited calls to the United States and to 30 other countries for free. But I have paid my line rental in advance. I am a Sky customer as well - only to watch the sports. You have to give 30 days notice to cancel your subscription. I pay Sky about £43 a month. So average expense, is around +/-£66.00. What TT are proposing to me is their Talk Talk Plus plan with TV and Superpowered Fibre BB.Breakdown of the PlanPlus Call plan- £15.50Superpowered Fibre BB- £10.00Sky Sports- £ 30.00 (which can be switched on and off on a single day)Tv Starter Boost- £5.00 (for Sky Sports News annoyingly not part of the Sky Sports package)TOTAL - £60.50Since I am in a contract with Sky they have agreed to change my plan to TV and Superpowered Fibre for £25.50. When my contract with Sky comes to an end I can call them up and add the channels I wish to watch on.I was also advised that I will get half price of my call plan for 6 months, meaning my package with TT for the next 6 months will be £17.75 and after 6 months I will pay £25.50. They will also send out a fibre optic router for free and waive of the engineer for the installation of fibre BB. To help even further, they will waive of the engineer charge to help get connected for the TV service and enusre I am connected with the TV service and everything so no stress to make sure all will be working. Is it a good deal? Should I go for it?Do look forward to your response. Have lovel

I'm in W7 and have used Virgin for my phone line for 10 years or so and broadband for 1 year.  I don't get any TV through them.I had a lot of problems with the phone line about 5 years ago, culminating in complaints to the chief exec etc but since then I can't fault it.The fibre optic broadband has, so far, been excellent - 30mb speeds whenever I've tested it and never had to reset the supplied router. There was a potential problem when the engineer came to fit the broadband cabling though.  He wanted to leave the router behind the TV on the ground floor and I wanted it in the same room as my PC, upstairs.  I didn't see the point of having to either buy a wireless dongle for the PC or track cabling on the inside of the house.  He didn't put up too much resistance but then tried to leave less than a metre of cable between the PC and the router.  I insisted on 3 metres, so I could locate the router where I wanted in the room.  After a couple of loud tuts, he complied! As Nigel points out, BT tried very hard to keep my broadband business but their product didn't make sense for me.  The bloke I spoke to seemed to think he was doing me a favour by offering the same price as Virgin but at a lesser speed, so I demurred.Unless you have pretty much agreed on a package, it may be worth googling for a couple of online forums where package costs are discussed.  I found it helpful to have a ball-park figure in my head when negotiating with Virgin. My current package is:Broadband - 30mbLandline (XL) - free calls to other landlines + 0870 numbers (of 1 hour or less duration) at evenings and weekendsI pay for the line rental a year in advance and the rest monthly.  Total monthly cost works out at £19.95 plus whatever calls I make over my limits. What TV package are you looking for?
