What is happening in Walpole park

Can someone explain to me what is the council trying to achieve in Walpole park. Half the area has been cordoned off and is out of bounds to the public.I know they had some spare cash but couldn't they have used the cash on something more worthwhile such as schools or hospitals.I hope they don't sell off parts of Walpole park to make more flats. You never know with the council.

The regeneration plans for Walpole Park and Pitzhanger Manor are fantastic. We are so lucky to have this facility in central Ealing.

There's some information on what is happening on the council website here: http://www.ealing.gov.uk/news/article/748/walpole_park_improvements_to_start_this_week.The money mostly comes from the Heritage Lottery Fund. There's no new school or hospital but there will be a learning centre for use by local schools.
