I have a 4year old Meriva - best place for an MOT ? We live in West Ealing

Agree with you Maggie, all our family have used Winstone at Autoworkshop at the end of Elers Rd(near Northfield Ave) for years. Winstone and his mechanics are honest and thoroghly reliable and nice with it.

I would rather a garage found the 'slightest fault' if it was in contravention of those standards expected at MOT.The test requirements are fairly 'lax' anyway when compared to our European neighbours and, quite frankly, if your vehicle doesn't meet the minimum standards it shouldn't be on the road anyway.

Check with Ealing Council. Most Councils have a garage facility somewhere which is available to do MOTs for the public.They may be cheaper too, but the main advantage is that Councils don't have a vested interest in finding the slightest fault to rectify in order to generate income.

I've got a 4 year old grandson Edward and a 3 year old granddaughter Anna and can confirm Humes Garage is excellent.

All approved test stations have to follow rigid guidelines.If you want somewhere that will undertake any defects uncovered at reasonable cost then I would recommend:Humes GarageHumes Avenue (off Boston Road)HanwellBoth testers and the mechanics are very experienced and, moreover, are nice people with whom to deal.Do mention my name, our family cars have been well looked after there for over 40 years.
