off to High Court for freedom of speech

Despite Ealing Council retaining an experienced human rights barrister to block me, a High Court judge has granted leave to hear my case for free speech. This all goes back to my blog about Southall. Agree, disagree or hate what I wrote, that's irrelevant.  It's about free speech and what the state can and can't seek to censor. Ealing council have spent £11,000 to date and refuse to back down. I shan't either as this case impacts on all of us. Free speech is essential to any democracy and it includes the right to say things others despise.  I broke no laws.

You've misunderstood my post.Your party slung you out because what you wrote would cost them votes - it's always about votes with you lot.And excuse me whilst I get the voilins out, "I care more about our constitution. It may be hard to believe but some of us think it's worth fighting for". I just don't believe you! I think you're trying to save face after that blog and wasting everyone's time and money in the process.

Bud,This was never about votes. You're naive to think it was, this is about something far far more important than politicians. It's about what can and can't be censored in a free society.Ealing Council fear they are wrong because they are spending vast sums on highly qualified barristers to prevent this.I couldn't less about re-election. I care more about our constitution. It may be hard to believe but some of us think it's worth fighting for.The first duty of any elected official should be to protect, defend and promote our civil liberties, not allow them to be trampled for votes.

My comment that I wrote on a previous thread in April of this year still stands for me:Benjamin,Whilst I truly empathise with you that you were 'hung out to dry' by your peers for saying what they and most of us are thinking, I'm afraid you were also naive. In a business where votes count, I'm not sure what you good you thought could come from this. Again, I repeat you that you said what we were all thinking, but, your comments, irrespective of whether factually correct or not, posed a major threat to securing votes from a whole area (Southall) and this was always going to end badly for you!What concerns me is that you are on a personal crusade and wasting OUR money in doing so. This really is your mess in my view!

Unfortunately, everyone knows what is true but no-one dares say it because the stigma of being accused as a racist however contrived, is as potent as being accused of being a witch in puritan times.The  parrallels are the same. Complete fear of the truth.It is corruption and abuse using race as a shroud. It benefits only a few  irrespective of race creed or colour and undermines the fundamental principal of this nation. that of fairness and equality.It's time politicians of all parties had the gumption to take on this poison rather than cower in fear of it.

Thank you. I'm doing this for him or her.I'm truly shocked at the expense and effort Ealing Council is going to to stop me. A top public law QC has been retained, they have spent £7,200 with his chambers to date.We all know Southall runs Ealing, this is Southall flexing at the expense of residents.I shall prevail.

Yes but I'm seeking an adjournment. It's the day before my wife's due date for our first child. I can't miss that. I've asked for an adjournment for 7 days after that day minimum. Should be looking at a date in late October/early November.
